Just When

I'm the empty one.
Sitting in the back row.
I know it will soon pass.
But for now this is all so
Draining. Tiring. Sad.
I want to feel something..
Anthing. I'd even
Settle for mad.

It's all just become this way of life.
Can't put the pieces back all right.

But...

Just when I think I slipped Your mind.
Just when I think I was left behind.
Just when I think I'm so far away
You walk before me, I hear You say,
"Hang on. I'm still your friend."
Just then.

Funny how life seems
To pull me outside.
When I just want to fall
In Your arms and hide.
Take this away,
I've grown colder and colder
Help me to place
This hurt on Your shoulders.

It's all just become this way of life.
Can't put the pieces back all right.

But...

Just when I think I slipped Your mind.
Just when I think I was left behind.
Just when I think I'm so far away
You walk before me, I hear You say,
"Don't fear. I'm still your friend."
Just then.

I'm clinging by a thread
Dangling on a prayer
I'm holding my breath
Lord, show me You care
I believe in Your mercy.
I believe in Your grace.
I just want to look past
To see Your face.

But...
Just when I think I slipped Your mind.
Just when I think I was left behind.
Just when I think I'm so far away
You walk before me, I hear You say,
"Here I am. I'm still your friend."
Just then.

Good morning Sunshine! I just wanted to say how much I love the song! I found your blog after reading Three Beautiful Things and have checked Three Gifts regularly. I just jumped off to Musings of a Musician and this song actually could describe the woman I wrote about on my own blog in today's post. Check it out! :)
Blessings from cold Canada!
